Prevention
Although Ecstasy has risen in terms of popularity as of late, like all drugs, there are multiple ways to prevent the drug from gaining further use. First off, Ecstasy must be monitored at the places where it is most commonly used. Young adults should be checked for Ecstasy upon entering clubs or raves. With the small size and easy transportation of the drug, it may not be such a simple task. Drug monitors are necessary, and could be used by way of police dogs that sniff out drugs. Another way to prevent the use, as I previously mentioned, is by way of celebrities. Young adults these days will do just about anything that their role models do. Popular artists need to take in to consideration the effect that they have on their fans. Macklemore is a prime example of a popular artist who's lyrics positively benefit the youth of the nation. Macklemore uses first-hand experiences to talk about the negatives of drug use. In conclusion, sometimes it's just the little things that need to be done to prevent the spread of drug use.

WHY IS ECSTASY POPULAR?
Ecstasy has become one of the most popular drugs in America for multiple reasons. First of all, the prices are very deceptive and misleading. When people first start using the crystalline form of ecstasy, known as Molly, they get high off of just 1 hit. This usually only cost somewhere around 10 dollars, so it's not very expensive. Eventually, 1 hit isn't enough to get high, and users now spend 20-30 dollars a night on Molly. Before they know it, after a few months users are dropping 80 or 90 dollars on this drug every night. This is a cleaver marketing trick by dealers, and it leaves users broke.
Another reason for the uprising popularity of Ecstasy is the infatuation with celebrity mentions. Music artists such as Tyga, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Wayne have all hinted to Ecstasy use in recent songs. As history has proven, young adults will do whatever their celebrity idols do. To prevent the widespread use of Ecstasy, celebrities need to realize how powerful their words and actions really are.

What is Ecstasy?
Ecstasy is a synthetic, hallucinogenic drug. It comes in a tablet shape, and is often branded with the dealers logo. The drug, which is considered a stimulant, has recently sky-rocketed in popularity. Nicknames for Ecstasy include; Adam, Molly (a crystalline form of ecstasy) , E, XTC, and Roll. In short-term, the trug causes an energy rush, and often boosts self confidence. Desires for sexual contact are common as well. Early effects also include blurry vision, sweating, nausea and increases in heart rate. In extreme cases, cardiovascular failure leads to death. In the long-term this drug causes major brain cell damage, often leading to memory loss and senses are negatively effected as well.
